1968 Stallone vette - sold for $198k in '09 & $85k in '11
Didn't watch the auction in 2009 but can't believe it got bid up to $198k. Stallone bought it but obviously others were bidding it up with him. Just traded for $85k.

That was impressive. Was kind of surprised that the yellow '69 being sold by its original owner only sold for $33k - automatic but still seemed low to me.

The first night I watched a pristine blue 74 vert go for 14k, it had recently been restored and was as clean as anything else I saw that night-I couldnt believe it went that cheap at BJ. Watched VW vans go for 47k last night. Stallone's car- I agree with the earlier comments, although I would love to have had the engine out of it!

I thought this was well bought, of course I might be a little partial to the color.

Barret Jackson strikes me as catering to a bunch of rich people buyers with little sense on ego trips. Some of the cars sold there for $65,000 and up would never get that much any other way even in the same condition.
I watched it twice and thought it was rather overblown.
Some cars are wonderful and look it and should sell for high prices but each time I've watched BJ it looks more like a marketing exercise than a reality exercise. NOT for me.

Don't read too much into it. If you sell the same car ten times at auction you'll see ten different prices, and they may be all over the map. When you start getting into the really collectible (and rare) cars, there aren't enough of then selling at any time to determine a real value and consequently the next auction price is often anyone's guess.

Not everyone would. Remember the support Frankenvette got? Quality of this build looks to be as good. It has a modern suspension and brakes to go with the engine. I bet it drives a lot better than a stock C3 oxcart. At this years selling price, it seems more real world.
