Covers for Hooker sidepipes that extend to the headers?
I'm looking into sidepipe covers now (I have 4" hooker-style pipes), and I noticed that, unlike the covers on the stock sidepipe exhaust, covers for hooker sidepipes typically end where the header meets the exhaust pipe.
My question is: does anyone make sidepipe covers that extend the whole length of exposed pipe on the side of the car? While the standard hooker sidepipe covers protect people from burns when getting into / out of the car, they don't protect, for example, someone cleaning the windshield and leaning over the car by the exposed headers.
Clean your windshield before you start the car then there won't be a problem.
Really, why would you want to cover up the header collector?
Personally, I can't come up with a reason why I wouldn't want to cover them up. The stock covers (like the ones from the C2) cover all of the exposed pipe and look fine, IMO. To each their own, I guess.

The 4" tubes and headers are just to massive to have full covers, it'd be like having running boards on your car. The early C3 factory side exhaust was much much smaller. and didn't stand off the side of the car as far.

Sounds like you just need to get rid of them. I'm sure there's someone out there who would be happy to take them off your hands for you.
