Default space question

While doing the stuff I need to do, I like to look at stuff I wanna do on this rebuild.

I have looked and really did not find an answer.

I want to recess mount amps into the back wall of the 72. My question is how much room is there between the wall and the tank? or is there somewhere I can look to find the answer.

Of course this is my own fault, I have 2 holes where a PO had speakers on that wall, but I did nto measure before taking the body off the frame. I think 2" would be about the height of the 6" speakers that were there. But I would hate to build it out and then have to undo it when the body gets dropped back on.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

In one of the posts a while back someone was asking about mounting the rear window storage tray. One of the posters told him to careful drilling the holes because there was only about 2" between the wall and the tank. Is it possible to cut your holes but wait until the body is dropped to mount the enclosures?

I had thought about that also. but want to make it a fiberglass box. and pre-drill holes for the mounting so no drilling once dropped. Of course I could surface mount and build toward the inside of the car for the same look, except for the window door and the tightness of room for the t-tops.
