My Dad & I have a BUNCH of old 8-Tracks and was wondering if '75 had factory 8-track player. I've been looking for an aftermarket but can't seem to find one....not even on ebay.
The first year that Corvette was available with a tape player was 1977.
The radio opening in the 68-76 center gauge bezel, wasn't big enough to accommodate a tape player. The dash of the 77 was redesigned, so that a factory in dash tape player, could be offered.
Prior to 77, if a Corvette owner wanted a tape player, they either had to cut up the radio opening in the gauge bezel (which many of us did), or find some place to mount an under dash unit.
Whenever I hear Paranoid by Black Sabbath, I still wait for the "ca-clunk" as it went from track 3 track 4.
45 minutes of bliss!
