73' L-82 starting issues
procedures tried on seperate occasions: (seperate being more than 24 hours apart to allow for complete cold engine)
1. turn key (zero throttle)
2. turn key (with throttle full open)
3. cold starting as owners manual says: pump of the gas and a slow return to zero throttle, turn key.
4. 1 pump of gas, turn key (with throttle full open)
3. 2 pumps of throttle, turn key.
4. 3 pumps of throttle, turn key.
5. 4 pumps of throttle, turn key.
6. 2 pumps of throttle, turn key, wait 5-7 min, 1 pump of throttle (this worked once without fluid)
7. same as 5. with 2 pumps after 5-7 min.
engine idles smooth with no backfire or irregularity. when the car sits between occasions the throttle sticks at about 25% throttle, more pressure is applied and it breaks free and the throttle then has smooth operation. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am new to the carb scene so pardon my lack of knowledge. I believe the choke is working correctly, engine speed is high for 15 min or so until the temp is up, then the rpm's slow. Is there another means of determining a proper high idle/ choke function? The throttle only sticks on the first closed to open stroke after having sat overnight. It has not stuck on the open to closed yet. Is this just an issue of the carb needing cleaning?
thanks,
