Default Willcox , can you assist here please?

Willcox,

You assisted a few days back where I inquired about a clamp for the steel vacuume lines that run across the firewall. You said you might have a loose one you could dig up.

I will be ordering some parts from you soon when I start my winter project on my 71 in November.

My question for now is this....

On you item # 33680, how do you get the rivet heads flattened down tight on the under side of the dash

I need to repalce the stud plate on the firewall to secure the clamp mentioned above. I beleive I can access the work area on the underside of the firewall by removing the map pocket or right side dash.

It seems to hammer on the rivet from inside the car while someone is putting presure on the rivet from above will not get this as tight as a special factory instillation tool and may crack a 40 year old firewall.

Almost seems like a easier way would be a rivet that is threaded for a nut on the hidden underside.

Any advice would be a big help.

David
