I have seen a few threads on this however none have come out and said that they had done it and completed it. So has anyone done a universal power window kit say from SPAL and if so how did it go, or not? It seems like a very cool way to go however there is not much room behind the door panel! I guess you need to loose the regulator shaft housing for it will no fit with the new part so: after you get rid of that it leaves the shaft housing which is a cylinder with a slice in it. I am hoping that this is what you attach the after market kit to?? I forgot to say that this is for a 74 Vette I am working on. And I am not doing this on by the book! Going to go with some changes I have in mind.
I am hoping someone has done it, dont want to get it and then have an OH Shxx experience.

power window harness is a seperate assy. you can pick them up reasonable.($100)
besides the harness you need the switches, and the motors/Regulators.
you could make the harness if you had to its not complex.
the factory harness is already made to the correct lengths, and ga. size.
I retro fitted to power windows, bought a used harness a
then aquired the rest of the parts neeeded. easy as pie.
