speedometer inaccurate reading
hi? My 82 corvette with a small block and an edelbrock carb. Crossfire injection is out. my speedometer is acting funny and not accurate. Below 50mph it looks normal and above that the needle start to shakes/bounce up and down. what could it be and wat part do i need to buy. The car used to have cruise control but now no cruise cintrol. Rmp needle works just fine.

with my setup and no cruise which cable should i buy? i know they have two set. one with cruise and one without cruise. one is just like a rope/string that you insert into the old housing after you remove the old one. is this the correct one or what

Do you have the assembly instruction manual (AIM)? The AIM will list the orginal part numbers for speedo cables with and without the optional cruise control.
If you have removed the cruise control, you need the non-cruise cable.
Have you lubed your existing cable?

no i haven't lube the old cable. what lube should i use and is it easy to pull our that cable? most cars all you have to do is remove the speedometer cluster and remove the cable and then insert another one in.
