The sides of my console are bulging out about 1/2" in the middle. It looks like the top should be holding them in place, but the sides are not staying there and now look ugly. They are only 2 years old too.
Anyone know of a trick to get them back in place and looking good again?
I'm not sure what would cause them to bulge, there is a screw at the front and one right at the middle section under the back edge of the sift plate. The sides should actually tuck under the lower area of the shift plate and hold it in place at the top. If the lower edge of the shift plate is not touching the upper edge of the side panel I suppose it could bulge.
Do you have a pic you can post?

Thanks for your replies. I will try to get a pic tomorrow. The bulging is on both sides and if you look at the picture that Willcox posted, the center of the bulge would be right between the two screws (where the arrow is pointing).
Didn't know if this was a known issue or not. I have tried tucking them back under the console plate, but the are not staying. The material has started to get a crease and does not have the strength to stay with the bulge pushing out.
The mounting holes are slotted horizontal... Try moving it backwards in the slots which will force the side panel to be snug under the shift plate. It should stay in place then.
