I'm new to this forum and purchased a '69 Corvette a month ago so be patient with my questions.

1). AIM-I assume this is the building spec manual for Corvettes. Where can I purchase one?

2). Is there a way to get the original build sheet or listing of equipment associated with my car? If so, who do I contact?

Thanks!

We have the assembly manuals on our site at forum special pricing here: http://willcoxcorvette.com/advanced_...EMBLY%20MANUAL

The spec sheet.. you might try the NCRS site for the Delivery record thing... I've not look at it very much and probably should.

Unless you can find the sticker on top of your gas tank, there is no available paperwork stating what options is was built with.

AIM is the acronym for assembly instruction manual. These are model year specific and were printed to show workers on the assembly line how to install the various parts on the car. All the aftermarket providers carry the AIMs. You will want one. Order the GM chassis service manual at the same time. Do you have a 69 owner's manual? If not, order a reprint.

Yes and No. Does the previous owner of your car have any of the original factory documention? Window sticker, original invoice, original Corvette order, etc?

A copy of the Corvette order was glued to the top of the fuel tank during assembly. This has become known as the "tank sticker." It may or may not still be on your car.

Note tank sticker on this 69 (upper left side of the tank, white thing behind the fill collar):

You could also find something like this. It's there, but probably not legible:

Copies of build sheets have been found tucked in the wiring behind the speedo/tach; tucked in the wiring behind the center cluster; behind either kick panel; tucked in the springs under a seat; and under the carpet in the rear storage area. I do not advocate tearing your car apart looking for something which may not be there, BUT if you happen to be puttering around any of these areas, keep your eyes open.

Worth the money:

Congrats on your '69.
