Accidents Will Happen: 1978 Corvette Pace Car vs Semi Truck

While getting a bit off topic, actually feel worse for the cube van and semi drivers, as they were doing absolutely nothing wrong. No idea how the Suburban got squireley, but obviously messed up somehow. I drive on icey roads in northern Michigan all the time, and just stay to the right for the conditions. Get 7000 lb 4WD's blowing by me all the time, until in the ditch a few miles up. No tears from me, for these guys.

If you think the '78 is in bad shape. Take a look at this video and say a few prayers for the people in the SUV.

Have to drive with your head on a swivel. Too many motorists not paying attention. If I'm stopped @ a light, I have an exit strategy in case the clown behind me doesn't see stopped traffic.

It looked to me like he/she hit the slush in the middle of the road and lost control. I don't like to change lanes when there is a slushy divider for exactly that reason.

You'd think the state DOT's would have some liability for poor design . .

I agree. Front spoiler is missing, "limited edition" decals are in the wrong spot, and the rocker panels are black with the clear lip as opposed to clear with black in the screw channel.
The photos make the interior look darker than the correct gray, and I THINK that's a fiberglass top as opposed to the glass that would have come on it, but I could most certainly be wrong.
The rear spoiler appears to be missing as well, but that could be chalked up to the accident.
A quick look in the interior would say a lot and the VIN would end all questions.
I agree though, sucks to see another C3 off the road.

Missouri only recently put in a cable crash catch thing that no one likes and will probly done away with as the semi trucks are destroying it faster than modot can keep repairing

Those cable dividers might not stop a semi, but they will absolutely stop a passenger car, SUV, or pick up.
AND usually total it as well.
But that's better than going into the oncoming lanes and getting killed....

It's better to move slow than not moving at all.
I remember seeing the car in front of me trying to pass the snowplow who was in front of us and got cought in the slush in the middle of the road and he lost control and did a 360 to finally end his course in the ditch on the other side of the road.
