on my passenger side window ,it moves back and forth .it does not stay in place .how do i stop the window from sliding back and forth?
Take the door panel off and look at the two bolts that hold the middle track, its location would be about level with the arm rest. They control the back and forth movement. Something is loose or worn out...maybe the rollers.
If your window lines up and goes up and down properly don't start loosening off anything. Aligning them is a real pain.
You will know one you have the panel off. Move the window back and forth and look for sliding bolts. If no bolts are sliding it may be the rollers or regulator.
Purchase the assmebly instruction manual (AIM). The AIM has instructions for setting and adjusting the windows.
yes my book is 15 years old .but i have not looked thru that section yet .i have looked thru exploded views and still not sure why the window is loose .i will have to take it apart to find out .thanks for all replys.

Lots here. But taking it apart is a good place to start. Do a visual.
