Default I cannot play the piano....

...and do not want to come off as arrogant, however, I am pretty experienced with cars.

As I have become more involved with putting the Corvette together, I am thinking it would be nice to get together with other enthusiasts in my area and help out with projects as needed.

I am sure that some may not be as experienced as I am with cars. My grandfather owned a body shop for over 50 years and my dad is in the business and I worked at a speed shop all throughout college and am willing to help out on projects whether it is welding repairs on someones frame, helping with finished body work, painting, interior, porting cylinder heads, giving a hand in assembling a bottom end or full on race modifications, cages etc....I work full time and am a single dad, but be great to meet up on off days to work on projects. I have all types of metal fabrication tools, mig, tig, arc, torches, sandblasting cabinet etc.

I can't take on another project, but could lend a hand to someone elses and since I am new to Corvettes, it would be a good opportunity for me to learn more about them.

We do things like this a few times a year here in NorCal.... We call them MOD DAYS..
Maybe check out a local club and get to know a few of the local guys and put them together for a mod day...

My front end was rebuilt at a mod day and my front brakes were done at another mod day...
We have put headers on a C6 at another mod day and we replaced the headlights on a c6 at another mod day..... We did a fluid chance day one weekend too.... WE have a lot of talented people up here in NORCAL.....

I always say Built it and they will come....

Wish you were in my area, I could use some fab work..LOL

Very nice offer
You can tune a car and tuna fish....
Here's the map to my house: http://g.co/maps/unqf8
I'll have beer and bbq waiting..

I love my neighborhood. We're pretty spread out, but we have dinners and parties and most of the street usually shows up. Even a couple of car buffs. One guy owns a heavy truck repair business and (oddly) provides a vintage hot rod 4wheel alignment service for old cars like ours! I'm never moving

I will tell you, where I grew up, across the street and two houses up Paul had a 351 Mach 1 as did Ross who lived 4 houses down. Our friend Anthony's father had and still has a low mileage 71 LT1 Vette, Paul also had an F85 Olds that went well. A few blocks down there was a pretty bad *** 442, a 67 Firebird sitting, another 67 Firebird warmed over 350, a 69 RS Camaro convertible, my brother had a 67 Camaro that we built and so many other cars sitting around or being built. This was in the late 1980's. early 1990s when I was 17.

Gosh, no kidding! I need some help with vehicles other than my Corvette, too... Or, I'd just love to BS with someone in real life about cars and not just live on the internets with what interests me.

you might want to post this in the regional section for the northeast. it would get considerably more looks there from all the various generation owners.

My friend lives right on the water on Nahant Ave...I am there often, I am an avid surfer and hit Winthrop often...my parents have a serious barn not far from where I live, so that is where a lot of the heavy work takes place

This is a great concept! I like the regional suggestion too.

So for those in the SouthWest US:

I commend your offer! Lots of us noobs out there who would like to learn how do our own work (beyond basic things like oil changes, hose replacements, etc...), but there really isn't a good vehicle to do so. I have a small leak in my radiator now, and I would really like to replace it in the spring, but my biggest fear is the shame of having to call a tow truck while my car is in pieces! :-)
