So I guess I need some spacers to push them out a bit. My question is are there specific spacers for specific cars? Or is it as long as they are the correct lug pattern they should work. Are they as straightforward as they seem when it comes to install?
I guess I need about 1.5" to feel comfortable. Its really pressed up against the tire right now.
Often folks simply relocate the e-brake cable bracket to the top of the trailing arm. I'm about to do the same. My rear tire does not rub but is awfully close.

you must measure bracket, and mark new location on top,
then cheisel/ or cut the bracket off, then reweld in the marked location,

a local muffler shop, can move the bracket for you.
(Yes, that's the Emergency brake cable, on both sides)
This is going to be an absolutely stupid question and I've looked....I apologize in advance. Does anyone have a photo of a wheel spacer and where it goes, one in place on a C3? I've read about them and the various discussions but don't have one on my 76 with it's 255/ 60 r15 wheels. If I ever ruin one of the progressive wheels on the car they aren't available anymore so I'd probably buy new wheels and go to 17" or some such and will need to know so it's time to admit once again something I'm ignorant about and ask for photos of such a thing. I've searched vendors for wheel spacers and back spacers and found zilch.
If you knew how much I hate knowingly asking stupid questions.......
Just had the same problem.. I used 1in spacers and it worked fine.. I also needed 1/2 in for the fronts .. The tires rubbed on the frame when you turned.. I have a set of one inch spacers that I did not use if you would like to purchase,, I can give you a deal..
The car looks great with the spacers..
So....the spacer goes on and bolts to the existing piece and then new threaded studs in the five stud pattern are threaded into it and when the wheel goes back on the inside of the wheel is now outward away from the center line of the car by the distance of the inserted spacer, say an inch just for conversation sake?
The tires inside edge then is that inch further away from the inside of the car as a result.
Is this approximately correct?
I'll attach a photo of one I saw on Ebay where I hadn't looked.
Thanks for helping. If sometimes feel pretty dumb with the systems I'm learning on the vette though in 13 months I think I've absorbed rather a lot so far. Helps to understand the mechanics of it for me.
