Are you saying you have a 1979 Anniversary Corvette?

Yes! I bought it at a lien sale, and am trying to iron out the bugs. One of the biggest is when I put it in gear, it wants to die. when I come to a stop, I have to put it in neutral to keep it running.

There were no 79 Anniversary models; those were 78 only.

either it's not a 79 or somebody added the emblems. The 25th anniversary of the Corvette was in 1978, the first year being 1953.

Door panels and emblems could have come from any where. Post the VIN; 78s have an 8 for the model year code; 79s have a 9.
1Z87x
8 for 78s.
1Z87x
9 for 79s.

25th anniversary in 78.
