response to tim: why is it a bad move??? and why does the carb come EGR or NON EGR then
To put it simply, some engines have an EGR valve, some don't. it operates off of engine vacuum, and some carbs have an EGR vacuum port, others don't. So, it's the engine that has an EGR valve, not the carb, but carbs meant to go on an engine with an EGR valve will be set up for it. S, you need to figure out if your engine still has an EGR valve (alot of them have been removed), and, if so, do you want to keep it.
It's only a bad move if you don't plan on ever rebuilding it yourself. In general, Holley carbs are more user friendly...tweeking/refurbing...than other brands, although I have no experience with their smog carbs.
