Default Tach Problems

I recently replaced the tach circuit board in my '75, as the tachometer wasn't working at all. Since I replaced the board it works, although when it hits 4500 rpm it seems to die; it falls back to around 3000, and continues to climb from there. I bypassed the filter with no effect and am at a loss as to what the problem may be.

Hmmm...sounds like a bad board. Who made it? There are only two sources I would get a board from...Gardner or Wilcox. They assembly them and their boards are made in the U.S.A. However, other vendors may have changed sources but that would be new information yet to be learned.
