Please help me!! My '77 auto, w/ tilt steering will not start. The starter is good and ground cleaned, new battery, new ignition switch on the colume ( that was fun). I have interior light, but the solinoid is not firing. I just pulled the neutral safety switch, but have not located a new one yet. What else could it be? The only other symptom I have to offer, it when the car is sitting in the garage, with no key in the ignition, the buzzer would sound off on it's own. Before I purchase a ns switch, I need to eliminate other possibilities. Thank you for your help.
Thank you for your reply.
I believe I connected the ignition switch properly. It seems there was only one way to connect the 3 electrical plugs back. The actuator hole in the switch was in the forward position, just like it was in the one I removed. I do not see an ignition fuse on the fuse panel. Could it be somewhere else? Thank you again.
Thanks again for your reply. Just to let you and anyone else that ever has this problem, I bypassed the neutral safety switch, and it started right up. Thanks again.
