It has been said in the past that Terry Michaelis almost single-handedly drove up the price of the Corvette hobby. He was in the right place with the right toys at the right time. Wages were good when he started hustling 'vettes. Napoleon, Ohio was surrounded by a lot of auto industry related jobs. Detroit, Cleveland, Gary, Chicago, St. Louis, all in driving distance when gas was cheap.
it is still a documented 435 convertible, and a L89 ( 1 in 624 ) at that, if it is real and no rust issues, then it would push high 5 figures if properly date coded engine parts and broaching and stamping were done.
one still could not prove it was real to any greater extent than most any other supposedly real L71 either.
buy you a mint 68 SB for 25K and just swap the parts over and you are 80% done.all you will need to do is find the right coded engine and tranny parts.. you will have about 60K in a 80K car...
When Terry or someone else finds a "correct range" L89 for it, that restamp is going to match that VIN very, very quickly, and someone is going to make some money.
