Well I don't really want to talk about what happened, not a fun night though. Frame is done, the two arms that come out at the rear to support the bumper are folded in half. I'm now trying to figure out exactly what to do with it. It's up on jack stands now, I'll upload some more pics tomorrow. Just wanted to see what everyone thinks I should do.
wow, I'd have a tough time looking at that im my driveway! I'd have to agree, cut your losses, take the check and go get something else! Sorry for your misfortune!
Take the insurance money and keep the car if possible. Then either sell the parts and buy another one or use the parts and build another one.
This is not a bad option if you have the background to handle it. Big issue is what they charge you to let you keep it. Many could use the front and other parts if good usable stuff. If it is more than you want to deal with then take settlement and let them have the car and you buy another.
Well if you take the money and decide to build another, throw me a message as I am not far from ya and am willing to lend you a hand! My labor is cheap.. Beer and pizza! Well, maybe that isn't that cheap in the long run!
Well here's the thing, I don't exactly know what kind of insurance money I'm going to get. I had a very limited policy. Long story short I was headed home and since I had done some work on it that day I decided to punch it (Like I always did, and I'm sure many do after a day of work) I was probably going about 60 when I tapped the brake and it all of a sudden grabbed to the right very hard. I couldn't correct it and slid sideways and the rear driver side hit a concrete telephone pole on the right side of the road. I was very lucky. Here's some more pictures, I took them this morning though so pardon the lighting.
Have you already settled with the ins. co. ? They might not like you taking the car apart. I would say that car is not worth fixing and you are better off buying another.

Yeah there's not too much to fix considering the rear frame rails are bent at almost a 90 degree angle. I'm just trying to get the most money out of it so I can hopefully buy something else. Would really love a 68 project car.
1. glad you are OK
2. first thing I would have done is go right to my insurance policy to see about filing the claim, even prior to taking pics and uploading and posting to this forum. If you don't know what you are covered for, then 95% of the time, you are not.
3. that car is not going to get fixed.. you are going to have to sell it for parts to cover your loss.

Maybe #2 was a little harsh but other than that....
Sorry for your loss dude, but maybe something good will come of it in the long run.
Hopefully the interior was nice because it doesn't look like much more will be salvageable. That's an insane amount of damage considering you were already slowing down from only 60 mph.
You didn't have a company such as Hagerty insuring that car? $300 a year (or less) would have most likely got you at least $12,000 in agreed value.
I recently dealt with my insurance company for my totaled Vet.
Am I reading it right that you haven't even contacted your insurance?
When you say limited policy, do you mean you don't have full coverage?
If you don't have full Coverage...then maybe you just learned why you should have full coverage!
If you do have full coverage...call the insurance company make a claim.
They will total it out, then offer you an amount.
You tell them to shove that amount(not in those words), send them every receipt that you had on the car showing how much money has gone into it.
Then they will adjust the value of the car and offer you a new amount.
Take that amount, then offer to purchase the car from them.
Purchase the car then sell the parts!
those bent frame rails are what saved your life. they absorbed most of the energy of the impact. it's the same idea as the "crumple zones" on new cars, only it this case it's "old and rusted frame rails".
