Body Position Question
I have a crew coming over tomorrow to help me lift and "possibly" flip my body over so I can finish the under carriage... Is the body strong enough to balance on 3 pieces of stacked 4"x6"s under this part of the body and let it have most of it's weight on this area for about a week??? I will use tie straps at the corners to rafters to help balance it...

The rear flare sticks out about 6 inches, so that's why I was going with 3 stacked pieces of 4x6... Plan to just rotate the body 90 degrees clockwise... What do you think??
My other option is to flip it upside on the body dolly, but have to build a 2 Foot bridge so the windshield frame won't hit the ground... Then I would need to put a few furniture dollies near the astro vent grilles...
Any other ideas on how to best get at the underneath of the car??? Need to clean, lizard skin and U-POL line the bottom...
Thanks
Rogman
put the car on a dolly and work upside down-not easy or neat, and you'll go home with a face full of dirt but it's better than having major damage to the rockers or glass bonding areas.

I did it that way.
2 things I did right:
1. Put up plastic around the car taped to the floor and ceiling.
2. Get everything ready and start early so you can do it all at once and only clean up once.
I had new stitches on my left arm and had to wrap them in plastic (white stripe) Try to see the color of my right arm resting on the car. :-)
It was messy but rewarding.
