Has anyone replaced the rear plenum baffle... See pictures (#9 in the AIM picture)...
I can tape it up when I shoot the lizard skin underneath, but would replace it (or just remove it if it does not add value) if I could find it... Looked on most of the major retailers with no luck (to include cover to cover in Doc's catalog)...
Thanks guys, mine is there as outlined in red in my picture... It's under the car opposited of the interior astros... I have the correct "block" vents for the Vert, but bubba has drilled several holes in the block off plates... Will see if fiber glass will adhere to the block off plates to seal the holes...
Noonie, think I'll take your advice to clean up, tape, undercoat, and un-tape... Very surprised to find no one offers a replacement... Thought you could build an entire car from the retailers...
Here is a pic of my oem 75 convertible.
I ended up taking the plates off, sandblasting and painting them. They are held on with 3 pop rivets and a rubber gasket. You can use some good urethane caulk and short ss crews or pop rivets to reinstall.
Be sure to put you tank shield back on as this will prevent water from sitting on the top of the tank. I made 1/4" thick delrin spacer washers to mount the shield so water and dirt doesn't get trapped where it mounts to the frame (common place for rust).
BTW, if you have holes in those plates, you will get exhaust sucked into the cabin.

Thanks... I only drove the car about a total of 40 feet into the garage before I ripped it apart... So, I never got to experience the exhaust fumes... My tank shield fits on the rear of the tank, is that what you're talking about??

No, doesn't apply, you don't have the one I'm referring to.
Plenum is blocked off on AC cars. Cars without AC have doors between the plenum and the body that are controlled by the position of the heat/temp wheels.

I believe you are correct. My memory failed me. I do have A/C so that plenum is blocked.
For my 68 Convertible (May 1968), the vacuum controlled plenum assembly was missing. The openings were sealed. I'm pretty sure it came from the factory like that.
