It revs out far too quick and has a limited top speed, I go rapidly through the gears. I can take off in 2nd and go stright to fourth, obvious copious torque with the 427 rollar cam rebuilt motor (orig No.)
How can I determine my diff ratio and change it to more wind out in each gear. It has enough hp and torque but I want it to push me back into the seat rather than having to rpaidly change gears
You can get a pretty good estimate but jacking the car up safely and put it in nuetral, mark the driveshaft, rotate wheel, get an idea of how many rotations.
This can be a somewhat accurate way, get a ballpark of the ratio.
Thanks for the responses and links. I couldnt make out any markings under the diff but had limited time this evening. I will jack it up tomorrow and count revolutions to get the ratio.
I suspect it will be highly geared so what is the opinion on a suitable ratio to give me more wind out in each gear and plenty of push back in the seat.
Also, can anyone recommend a brand and place to buy new ratios
