1) Remove the side panels from both sides of the transmission tunnel. This is held on by several screws.
2) Remove the shifter ****
3) Remove the 6 screws securing the console shifter plate. There are 2 in the front , holding the the plate onto the small gauges center stack plate; 2 on either side towards the center of the console center plate; and two in the rear, securing it to the armrest/e-brake.
4) gently begin to lift the plate, disconnecting wires/plugs as you go.
5) slide the plate up, off over the shift ****.
6) the ashtray lid is held on by two plastic rivets. These rivets have a hollow center with filled by a plastic rod. You can salvage these rivets by working this plastic pin out (when replacing, simply squeeze the pin back into the rivet), or purchase replacements from most vendors. NOTE: Using small bolts or other metallic substitutes tends to either restrict the easy opening of the door or give you a small rattle.
7) removal of lighter is accomplished per previous post.
8) reverse above to reassemble.
