Got a new dash cap for Christmas and I'm guessing that it's probably best if I remove my present pad for cleaning, etc.
A couple questions:
1) Do you recommend removing the existing pad (cracked ) in order to properly prep it for installation of the cap?
2) What all needs to be removed to take out the existing pad? I've searched here and there's lots of threads on removing left and right pads (lower) but for some reason I can't find one about removing JUST the top one.
IF you intend to remove the existing pad to install the cap (that would be my choice, but it's not my cap), you will probably have to remove the passenger's side dash pad in order to get to the mounting bracket and bolt for the upper pad.
Do you have the AIM? It shows the bracket and bolt.
Willcox info is good. It's an easy project as far as corvette projects go. I would use a different glue like contact cement or something of that nature.
