My 69,Sounds like the tire is Rubbing when i go around the corner real slow, its not the tire, but the sound is coming from the rear left side.I have had vettes with the chatter, but not this. Any idea.
What size tires do you have on it? Which way are you turning? there are several threads about bushings being shot in the rear suspension and letting the tires move around. A 255/60-15 on the factory rally wheels will rub on some '68s and '69s although they fit the later years fine.
If the tires are rubbing, it is usually easy to find. there will be black wear marks and there will be fresh rubber areas on the tire.
You can also take chalk or the big yellow grease sticks and mark the inner sides of the tires to see if they are rubbing.
Or get creative, attach a video camera underneath and aim at each wheel. Go for a ride around the block, move it to another wheel, and do it again. Then you can see what is going on.
