Well after selling my 70 coupe way back in 1979 when I was a 23 year old kid that needed some cash ($4200.00!) I finally am the owner of a nice, all original red on red 78 coupe.
I regretted selling my 70 the day after it was gone and missed it every day since!! I always knew that some day some how I would have another C3.
It just happened that I was looking for a car online for my son at a local Chevy dealer and came across an ad for a 1978 Corvette Coupe that just came in on a trade and for sale for 5400.00 I thought it was a typo or the car had to be a total basket case. When I looked at it boy was I pleasantly surprised!
Unmolested, loaded, and in super clean condition! Got it on the lift and it has all new brakes, body mounts, frame is mint, clean original matching #'s L48, glass t-tops, aluminum wheels, pw, tilt telescopic wheel and a pretty decent re-paint. Needs carpets and some TLC but it looks and drives great!
I have been lurking on this great forum for a few weeks and already have absorbed a wealth of information.
I am very excited to be back in the C3 community and to find a lost piece of my past!
Congrats - - -I sold my C6 this summer and bought another 73 over the Labor Day weekend in southern California - - - my last `73 was sold in 1975 and like you, I've misssed it ever since but have enjoyed ten other Vettes in the interim.

I feel your pain about selling your 70 many years ago. I sold my 70 BB car when I was 27 and used the money for the down payment on my house. I sure wish I had kept that car. I know where it is and have corresponded with the current owner, but it is out of reach. The good news is, over the years, I have owned a handful of 70 models and currently have one that is close to the one I had when I was young, just not a BB.
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Im trying to get pics posted but having some difficulty. Is there any other way to post other than going through PhotoBucket?? Seems like I should just be able to upload a jpeg right into the post?? I'll get pics on soon!
Your story truly warms the cockles of my heart Nick. I have complete empathy for you. I sold my '80 almost 30 years ago; bought my second one 2 years ago and am 3/4's through a frame-off restoration.

Seems like an eternity but also just like yesterday once I turned the key! Brought a big smile to my face. My 19 year old son who is a Maxima guy drove it and he was also smiling. He just turned to me and said This is no Maxima! I think after all these years of my telling him about my old Vette he can finally see what I mean! He is hooked!
