Clutch pedal spring question - pics needed
I have my AIM here, but I'm not seeing the spot on my firewall for the return spring off of the Zbar. Maybe it's broken off or something?
Also, it looks like a spring should run from the clutch fork to the Zbar as well? Actually, looks like two springs hooked together in the AIM?
Some bubba had a spring off of the clutch fork - going to a bent up hanger - then to the DS motor mount.
Could someone post up pics of the way their spring(s) are run please? Not worried about under the car (clutch fork), that's easy enough. Just the spots where it should hook to in front of the firewall and on the Zbar.
Thank you!
Adam

Thank you fanmanbd. I can see where the spring goes to the firewall. For some reason I can't find a place to hook it there. Is it a loop on the firewall etc? From the AIM drawings it looks like something that would be molded as part of the firewall.
The spring(s) that come from your shifter fork - do they go to the Zbar as well? Also, are there one or two springs on that?
Thanks again for your help,
Adam

They really had this cobbled up The bent up hanger trick was really something
And, there was no spring from the Zbar to the firewall (steering column plate).

There's 3 springs. The pushrod return spring, and two anti-rattle springs on the fork push rod.
Edit, just saw the catalog pic and your pic.

69 Chevy, I think there are three springs, two on the rod in your picture that are anti-rattle springs. They connect to a hole on the back side of the rod to each end. A third spring is located up by the clutch rod coming throught the firewall, it pulls the Z bar back to the firewall.

No worries, Glenn. I got you covered, below.

Then the spring itself:
Hook one end of this spring to middle hole in upper z-bar then opposite end of spring hooks to hole in lower column mount. (nut-end shown is frame side)
I had these pieces handy and thought I could shed some light. Hope that helps.

Yep, that's the hole I found after seeing blueray72's post. Without someone pointing it out, it's so small that it would be hard to know that's what it's meant for.
Thanks spedaleden!
Trans is all rebuilt now (as of yesterday) so we're getting close!
