Default Cylinder head casting numbers

OK guys , I think I already know the answer but thought I would get opinions. I have a May build (J) 1972 base coupe 350 200hp. I have verified most of my #'s and found all date codes and #'s to be correct to the car. Block , rear , tranny etc. That's until I got to my heads. My drivers side head is 3998993 dated D-292 April 29 1972 that's good. The passenger side is my problem , on that side I find 3973487 dated H-111 Aug 11 1971. It appears this head is for a 1971 270HP engine. I don't suppose they had a head laying around for 9 months before bolting it to my engine. So my only assumption is that it was replaced. Anyone have any other possible explanation ??

Either the head did indeed lay around the factory for a while or it was replaced shortly after the car was delivered. I'd bet the first option.

My bigger question is are both heads the same performance wise? One was rated 270hp the other 200hp? Seems something would be different...valve wise?
