Default Z06 wheels

I am in love with two sets of wheels for my vette either the torque thrust wheels or the zo6 wheels which would you choose?

Would you buy these?

Those are nice looking wheels, but will the Z06 wheels even fit your C3 without rubbing, sticking out or even clear the calipers?

That is what I want to know I have seen them on a few cf members beautiful cars but I am unsure of the dimensions back spaces offset trailing arms ect but "bad baron", "bluegtp", and "chevymans77" all have these wheels if they don't chime in soon I will pm one them to ask but was just throwing it out there to see if which of the two.... the z06's or the american racing torque thrust people prefer they are both about the same availability on my local craigslist an relatively the same price on Craigslist

Well I love the Z06 wheels, I have them on my 92 C4. 295/35/18 rear and 275/40/17 front. But......... I'm partial to the old school look on the C3 cars. The tire diameters of the 70 series 15" tires really fill the wheel wells nicely. It's just the look I prefer on the older cars, although the 17" wheels offer a wider choice of performance tires. I'm using the stock steel 8x15 wheels with the stock P02 wheel covers on my 72. Mainly because hardly anyone else does.

Those wheels will work, but you need hub centric wheel adapters 2.5" will work. Do a search on ZO6 wheels.

Here's one

I imagine those z06 wheels look amazing on a c4 an I can understand the want to be one of the few guys with an old school looking car too but a 79 just doesn't have that beautiful short body old school chrome bumper look that goes well with steel wheels IMO

I think I might go with the z06s for that reason the torque thrust are amazing but they just scream classic muscle wich an L48 190hp vette doesn't have lol the z06wheels look amazing but not over the top IMO just wonder what other people think would love to see pictures of either wheel to get a better perspective

Thanks allot spedalden!!
Your car looks exactly like what I want mine to look
Like with those wheels at least the front one is this a random pic or is that your c3?

That is exactly the answers to what I was looking for. If I was gonna need a back space or a hub adapter. I think I am definatly gonna go z06 any one have a reason not to go replicas or knock off or any experience that I should look out for. I will try to get original z06 but if I find a great deal on a knock off set should I stay away from them. Any one know if they are reliable strong and safe or are they weak and dangerous?

Just my opinion.
The "original" wheel looks better. The "new" Z06 rims looks out of place on a C3.

It shouldn't be to hard to find a set of "like new" original "take offs". If you go that route you know what you're getting. Can you say the same for "replicas"? I'm sure some are fine but can that be said of all that's out there at what seems to be "great" prices? Besides you need adapters either way.

All Corvette owners will know that those are "modern" vette wheels and therefore not even close to correct, but I do love them and will put them on my C5 if I ever get one and they won't be correct there either!

they would look awesome on a c5 an anyone can tell they are not period correct but the great thing about the LATE c3s is they are old school hot rod looking but no so old that they are super rare yet an dont have to be correct for allot of people to enjoy them

Yeah I am not looking for an original look i already put an after market fiberglass rear bumper on it but I don't want it to look stupid either all opinions welcome if you think those wheels look horrible on a c3 say so I like them both just looking to see who likes which ones the most torque thrust or z06

OK, Since you asked my opinon, I think Torque thrusts look absolutely
gorgeous on C3'S especially if they are chrome and deep dish. Though I love the Z06 wheels just not on c3's.
