I talked with these guys on Sat. www.ampperformance.com
I have never dealt with them, but they seemed to be knowledgeable and have kits for the C3. They sell Tremec transmissions.

I thought there was no or little wait time for the TKO as well as the RS400/500.

I'm pretty sure there's no wait on the Keisler Tremec trans, but I ordered an RS400 a couple of weeks back and was told it will be a 4 to 6 month wait. No concern for me as it'll be 8 months at the earliest before I can install.

Bought my TKO-600 kit from Mike at AMP. He was great to talk to and work with. The kit came with tranny, trans mount, driveshaft, upgraded shift position plate to be installed on console. Price was reasonable in my eyes. Its still in the box however. Unfortunately shortly before I was going to install it, I had a pretty nasty engine fire. Now i'm doing a frame off. Its gonna be quite some time before i'm rowing those gears again...

Got mine from Kiesler, from order time to delivery was about 2.5 weeks. I called them rather than mess with emails.

The RS transmissions are behind. The TKO's are readily available from my last conversation with Jeff at Keisler. Maybe Jeff will chime in here.

Give them a call rather than email.

I am going to hold off till my daughter is out of college. One more year. PLEASE!!!!

I bought my auto-to-manual TKO600 kit from Hurst Driveline Conversions, and I am very happy with it. I did however, after the fact, buy the hydraulic clutch kit from Keisler because Hurst does not offer one.

Will our bell housing and clutch, pressure plate, fork, flywheel work with the kit? Or do you get new ones with it? I have a richmond gear super t10 race trans in the car now and it has a 26 spline in it.

Your existing bell housing, pressure plate, fork and flywheel will work but you'll need a new clutch disk with the RS transmissions(not sure about the Tremec) to work with the Ford style RS trans input shaft. Of course if you're going to have the trans out anyway it would be a good idea to resurface the flywheel and get a new disk in any event.

I put in Keisler's RS600 in my '69 427 and LOVE IT!!! I ordered it in December '10, right when they were announced and waited 7 months for delivery. Waiting didn't suck so bad since I had the entire interior out, replaced all the wire harnesses, rebuilt the rear trailing arms, rebuilt the motor, installed Vintage Air, and a thousand other small projects. The transmission arrived within a week of the engine rebuild completion.

I bought a new clutch from them and used my old resurfaced flywheel. The kit came with a new pilot bearing and the tranny fit perfectly on my stock bellhousing. I also put their hydraulic clutch on it and it's smoooooth.

Shafi said I might have been one of the first C3s driving w/ the new RS600.

There are MANY threads on the various 5-speed vendors. Do some searching on the vendor names mentioned here and you'll see varying degrees of customer service and since the products are very similar decide if waiting for answers and support is worth saving a couple of bucks. Just saying do some research on these guys and see what the previous threads tell you and then make your decision on what’s important to you. American Powertrain got my business.

MyRed69,

Great advice.

I had great customer service with Keisler, for what it's worth. They sent me some of the parts ahead of time so I could get things ready (hydraulic clutch m/c, speedo cable) and were able to send me some quick parts that were missing from the first few kits out the door.
