The delay timer on our '77 is working with about a 20 second delay before turning the lights off. I have noticed the lights coming on is delayed about 5 seconds or so when I open the door. Is this normal or are the contacts getting bad?
That's what I thought should happen. As much as I like having the delay I think I'll bypass it. I really don't want to put this dash back together and have it go out killing my interior lights. Basically I really don't want to tear this thing back apart right away lol
My courtesy lights (68 and 80) come on as soon as the door is opened. No delay.
my 78 works the same way. that is the correct operation. on immediately upon opening one of the openings that trip a switch (door, hatch if applicable, etc). timed delay in leaving the vehicle or until started for "safety" and convenience
My 77 does the same thing. And it is a new couresty delay. I also replaced both door jam indicators. Putting the dash back together was a pain but also a learning experience.
