Nowadays everything is numbersmatching as if there weren't years of tinkering on the Vettes. That brings us new stories every day:
The trimplate of a 1982 Corvette says "silver" and the car is in a different color. The seller tries to convince you that it must have been a primer car, dispatched from Bowling Green without any final paint.
BS if the trim tag shows silver. Trim tag will show SPEC or PRIME or similar and will not show color codes if the car had no exterior paint. There may have been a few of the Bowling Green cars in primer, but not many. I have never seen a Bowling Green trim tag showing no paint.
For the 81s and 82s, Bowling Green's claim to fame was the quailty of the paint (bc/cc) from the new paint shop.
