I just finished restoring the interior on my 77, i got the center consul in and seats. Took for a spin the other day everything worked fine. I tried starting it yesterday to troubleshoot the vacuum system (damn headlights) and there is no power at all. The battery has full charge, the headlights come on but no lights on dash and won't turnover. i checked all the fuses with an ohm meter and all is good. any tips before i start digging aimlessly? im not sure where to start. Ignition switch????
The 77 has two fuse links one at the starter and one at the firewall right below the brake booster. I would check the one at the booster first and then the one by the starter.
You'll see it, it's funny looking wire. But tug on it and if it pulls apart it is blow. But.. if it is blown then you need to figure out why before repairing it.
Ok.. I thought I had this on this computer but wasn't sure. Please copy and past this in a JPG file.. the file is way to large for me to leave up on my site. But this is the 1977 factory schematic that has the power circuit traced.
You'll see the fuse link on the red wire by the firewall and by the starter. I'll remove this tonight.. so please snag it..

Found it! Right above the right Wheel under the hood the wiring harness passes through there and there is some kind of relay switch, the switch was loose or unplugged. when i plugged it back in all came on.
