Default LCD Screen in wiper bezel ????

Greetings from Downunder,
Okay...Let the FLAMING begin...LOL.
Has anyone thought /tried mounting a headunit or flat screen
in the wiper bezel ????
I currently have a DVD/mp3/usb player mounted in the
lower gauage cluster and a friend gave me his old motorized
7 inch lcd screen(single DIN - flip UP kind)
and as it's raining & I'm bored (and I HATE seeing things go to waste)
- I was tossing around the idea of using it for a
reversing camera and as a DVD screen at car shows.
But where to mount it ???
I've thought about putting the headunit in the wiper bezel
with the screen in the gauge cluster and vice versa.
Has anyone tried (or even thought) of this ??
Yeah, I got waaaay too much time on my hands.
Cheers,
Gav

Default Just get oneof those radios with a slide-out video screen

that's what I was thinking about doing. You use a camera input ....I was thinking about that for backing up.....

Depth of the unit and depth behind wiper bezel = no go. You have the air ducting which is,very close. Original radio location is as good as it gets.

Gav,

You've got Too Much Time On Your Hands! Instead of looking at the wiper bezel, why don't you turn the wipers on and go for a drive?

Corvettes don't need a reversing camera, there are two loud warning devices at the rear bumper to warn people to get out of the way!

I'd be working on my car now, but I have to go to work today about lunchtime and I don't finish until 10:30 tonight!

Got tomorrow off and should have it back on its wheels by lunchtime, and will go for a drive after that.

Regards from Down Under.

Point taken, John.
At the moment: driving the car is a fine balance of finances.
Got the rego due next week ,
as well as my Wife's ("cough cough") _1st birthday party to
organise (re- pay for).
I'm trying to save my pennies for A/C or 5 speed box too.
I've got a few connections at GMH,
that "may" be able to get me some parts (cheap),
so need the cash when they become available.
I work next door to where this (see pic)was built-and see it regulary.

Hey dembo,
I took the bezel out (last night) and it will fit in there
BUT the unit would have to sit so far forward
(for the screen to come out & up to clear the dash pad) that
it would mean fabricating a new bezel.

It was just an idea I was tossing around while bored/broke/hungover
on a Saturday morning.

Ah screw it...... I'm goin for a drive
