Still think you should be doing better than that in an L-48. Other mentions of Ford 460's, had a F-250 460 work van loaded with equipment at 6500 lbs, doing about 10 mpg all around. Recall family vacations in my dads 455 cars, loaded with kids, packed trunk, and about 13 highway. Add in, all these things were bricks.

80 - not sure if you are aware but we are doing a discounted group buy of 5 speed TKO transmissions. Let me know if you are interested in participating.
Yes 69, I've been watching that. I'm about to drop $1200.00 on a Steeroids kits. I won't be ready purchase my new tranny until late summer. You know how it goes... wife has me on a tight budget.
Well my 68 small block car auto 3.08 gears usually is in the range of 15 16mpg. But my race car is more like 12 gallons per mile! really! So I don't think I would ever complain about my vettes mileage.
I had mentioned in an earlier post that I wasn't as concerned about the MPG as I was about the size of the gas tank (approx 15 gallons). Has anyone else run across this situation? Thanks, Bill

Completely agree that the range of the car sucks and that is why I just purchased a 5 speed so that my highway MPG will go from maybe 12 to 18 or 20 which makes a big difference when it matters. Local driving I really don't care about range.
