Tranny question.
Reading my AIMs and all kinds of books for the vettes and I'm trying to find out which tranny is in my car. I have 76 vette with everything still stock. Engine wise not hard even though the tags missing but the locations of the tags for the tranny are MIA. Trying to figure if what's installed is the 3 speed or the 4 speed that just won't shift into 4th gear. This vette came with one or other just trying to find out so if it is a 4 speed that won't shift into 4th I can get it fixed instead of being stranded on road with shot tranny. Had this happen to my once with my firebird, not letting it happen with my vette.
Are there any other identifiers on the tranny and/or car to see which tranny is installed?

76 only came with 3speed auto and 4 speed manual.
I think it was the 1982 model year that was the first year for the 4speed Auto (700-R4). Maybe some leaked out in the 1981 model but not in 1976.
