Default Removing headlight assemblies from a 82

Can you remove the complete headlight assembly out the top of the opening?? I need to remove both assemblies to rebond the headlight bar so those need to come out.

Extremely difficult from the top. Remove the radiator valance underneath the nose and you'll get access through the bottom. Much easier that way.

Are you sure you can't rebond the header bar with the lights installed?

Not for sure of any of that, this will be the first for me. After looking at Wilcox help topic it looks like it's best to remove the assemblies so you can grind off the rivets so that's what I'm gonna try.

I took mine out of the top but in pieces. The frame is the largest piece and it will be the hardest to get out, but it can be done. Just make sure to surround the opening with painters tape so you don't nick the paint getting it out.

The 82 should not have rivets. It should be glued in. I think they quit using rivets in 73.

Ok that's makes sense why I didn't see any... Did you have to rebound yours?? Is this a common thing to happen on the C3s? I'm really nervous about it..

Mine had rust on one end so I replaced with a new one. If I hadn't lost all my pictures on it I would send them to you. The bonding agent is important as well as getting it fitted in the right position and holding it there so it can set.
