Default 1969 Front Clip Removal Question

I am Going to remove whats left of the front clip on my 1969.I have read many posts on this but, i have seen how to break the top and the seams by door jam. is there more to it than those locations? Can i just cut my clip in front of the bonding strip and get at it from that side? Thanks

It tells how in the old Ecklers book about how to get it off. I used that as my guide, but what they didn't tell is to use a heat gun to soften the bonding strips. I can email you the pages you need in a PDF format if you send me a PM with your email address.

Thanks RobRace10 got it. i think i am square on the removal except
bonding strip C. After separating the top, bottom and bonding strip B
does the instructions imply to pull strip C by hand or can i get at it
with a putty knife?

I used a stiff putty knife & a cake spreader that I sharpened the end & one side. Lots of heat & the seams will open up fairly easily. Alternate heat on each side as much as you can.

One thing I would have done differently is to leave the strip across the cowl to use as a reference for the new nose.

The Ecklers reference is what I used as well.

Purchase the 69 assembly instruction manual (AIM) and take a look at the diagrams showing the front clip installation. The AIM shows all the bonding points for the clip, including the panels behind the gills.

You will have to remove your sill plates before getting too far along.

Mark the shim stacks on the hood hinges. If possible, leave the radiator support and inner fender panels on the car.

Hey rob, could I get a copy of that as well? I'm in the process of removing the front clip to install a tilt front, and removing the rear clip (a real cob-job....a 75 clip with an 82 bumper) to replace with a more original 69 clip. I'd really appreciate it, thanks in advance.
