On my 69, My headlights and tail lights go out and then come back on. It doesn't happen all the time. I'm thinking it's a grounding issue but the ground wire seems to be fine but maybe I'm not looking for the right thing. Besides it being loose, anything else for me to look for? Thanks....

Do you have an AIM for your year? It will list all of the grounds, of which there are several, including the switch itself.
Forward lamp harness grounds on the radiator support behind the LH headlight. Rear harness grounds on the frame. Both should have nice clean grounding points, including the ring connectors.
When they go, are you losing front and rear at the same time?
When they go, do you also lose interior lights?
If you lose all lights at the same time, the culprit is likely to be the headlight switch.

It has happened three times. The first two times were brief and only noted the headlights out (for like two seconds). The last time the headlights and tail lights were out for at least 5 minutes (enough time for me to check the tail lights before shutting car down). I don't recall whether the interior lights went out.
Thanks for your suggestions...I'll check the harness grounds first. Sounds though like I might have a switch issue (since both headlights and tail lights go off)
