Exactly one month ago, I sold my 69 Mustang and bought a 1981 Vette. For the past 3+ weeks, the vette has been up on jack stands while I assessed her needs and did about 6,000 worth of work on her. I put her back down on the ground last night, and as soon as the rain stops, I'll be starting the trial runs to make sure everything is working properly. I can't wait.
Thanks to all of you who posted articles, gave me advice, and sold me parts. You made my life much easier!
Oh, I still have plenty to do, and you'll be seeing me on the forums a lot, but with all your help, I've gotten the car to the point where I can safely enjoy crushing around and look relatively good doing it!
$6K in 3 weeks... What major components did you work on - new motor, trans ? Look forward to before/after pictures and road test results. Good luck and drive it like you stole it
6K went to new exhaust, including headers, carpet, upholstery, floor mats, carb rebuild, entirely new brake system, shocks, several bushings, steering rebuild, trans pan, spare tire and tub, air dam, hoses, belts, tune up, weather strip, shop manuals, a whole bunch of incidentals, and I'm probably forgetting something. It's kept me out of trouble, that's for sure.

Amazing how quickly it all adds up. You can spend a ton of cash on these beautiful beasts and there is no end in sight. You certainly sound like you've been busy. Well done!
