Bummer
by by vette as soon as it is road worthy it is getting sold won't know for sure for a few weeks but it isnt looking good*
I own my own business and, like many others, our lives TANKED starting March 2008. We've been able to limp through by having wonderful clients and good business/financial sense (with a little help from 'the Guy upstairs').
Anyway, I was all primed and ready to purchase a new C6 for Christmas 2007. Someone totaled my wife's Land Rover and I ended up having to use all the money to buy her a new Volvo. The kids were in the car during the accident, so that's what you do...put them in a bank vault. And the Volvo IS a bank vault, I'm telling you.
Looking back, though, I would have been forced to sell my Corvette and probably taken a huge hit in the process. Nobody was looking for a new-ish Corvette in 2009 when I ran out of money.
Things are better now and I found my C3 which I LOOOOOOVE. I love it more than I would love a new C6, I think. It's not as fast and I need to do random bits of work on it (unexpectedly changed the radiator over the past few days), but THAT'S why I got a car.
My point is that EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING happens just the way it should. Whatever happens, it will work out. If you have to sell your car, you'll get back on your feet and find the PERFECT car for the PERFECT price on the backside.
I feel really awful to hear your story, but if I were there drinking a beer with you, I'd give you a pat on the back and tell you that "it'll all work out". Promise.

Keep the shiny side up!

Scott

notice after the crash windshield gone, my painted flamed side covers gone, mustang seat replaced with an uncomfortable knock off, saddle bags gone, drag bars gone, and had to by knock off dual head lights which i liked but still everything i spent money on went for dirt cheap to some guy and i had to start over with this vette i am gonna try to hang onto it and i do have a little bit of savings but the vette will be gone before the savings account goes to rock bottom hoping for the best

i am trying to figure something out
my wife is in school to get her NP license she is already and rn and has her bachelores. She should have the masters done this winter and the NP next summer she is not working so the bills all fall on me. I have had ALLOT of toys the past few years but this economy is a real brutal attack on the little guy. Luckily for me i have not had payments on any of my projects. i save till i can afford a broken version of what i want then i repair it the way i want it. so far that has been my saving grace because i have been able to turn a profit on all my lost toys. but this c3 is the last and most precious of the toys to me i do not want to see it go!
for those interest these are some pics of the bikes, trucks, buggys, an boats i have redone since moving here to southern cali i got a few of these from a connection i no longer have to the police auction the truck only cost me $600 and i sold it for $2k
an the same with the boat an buggy bought broken for near nothing and when i had to have money sold for a profit
