Default how to remove??

Hi All, looking to replace my parking brake cover. 1979 corvette. How do you remove and re install new.

does it just peel up? I see 2 screws in front, how do I get to them? do I remove side carpet on center console, or remove plastice top of center console. I know I should purchase manual. But you guys know everything.

My `73 also has a screw into the back of the console you get to from the center 'cubby' on the back deck - - not sure if 79's have that also . .

Just did it yesterday in my 73 , that hidden bolt accessable through the center rear compartment is a real head scratcher.

No hidden bolt on the 79s. They have the new style console.

Vinyl ebrake cover clips to the support around the edges of the cover. 77 shown; 79 is the same.

Remove the two screws. the top (rubber/vinyl piece) has 3-4 loops that hold it to the metal piece. Reach under there and peal them up. You do have to remove the carpet on the sides of the tunnel. It may sound like a pain in the **** but it is actually very easy to do all this if you remove the seats. It is only 4 bolts per seat.
