Default Identify a wire

Hey Guys,

I was looking in my engine bay and noticed this wire. Can you guys help me out to identify it and what it is used for?

The first image is of the entire engine bay with it circled and then a close up to follow.

Thanks.

Looks like the connector for the starter harness.
Looks a little chopped up. Is that a splice in that one wire?
Could someone have remover the other connector and just spliced the wires?

I am not sure. I have not done work on this car before.

What does the starting harness do? I would assume it would start the car, but since I don't have issues with starting the car, what would this plug into?

Should be a male plug.

Pull up any one of the vendors at the left and search "starter harness".

It is a male plug, but I am not sure what it is being used for since it is not plugged into anything and I can start the car.

I will check out the venders to see if they offer any additional info.
