I will have to re-look when it is light out. I didn't know my year had the option.
I am a complete noob for this...
I guess I was thinking the alarms for these old cars would be like the 70's that have the key lock "alarm on/off" that was by the front wheel fender.
Would I have to set the alarm on my 1980 or does it automatically come on when I lock the doors?
If it actually works, turning the driver side key to "lock" sets the alarm.
Not sure about 80s, but 79/78 was a crude system, just the alarm horn, no flashing lights, interlock, or anything special.
81 I think got a little more sophisticated.
The alarm should be lower than the brake booster but over in the fender area. Should be a threaded hole and another wire with an eyelet there if the horn is gone.

He is correct, I was just in that neighborhood on my car this past weekend.

The owner's manual explains how the alarm system is armed and disarmed. Door key does it when you lock/unlock the doors. Ttops and hood are also included in the alarm.
Spring for an owner's manual. Lots of valuable information in the owner's manual.
