I am still strongly considering the Year one crate engine CT350PC1. The question I have is, will this engine fit under a stock 1972 hood with the supplied intake? I have read many reviews on this forum concerning this engine and most people have good to great things to say about it.

Thanks for any info.

Intake WAS(& probably still is) Professional Products "Crosswind" p/n 52028. Very similar to EB rpm ag ... but Not identical. Visit www.professional-products.com for catalog w/ specs.
Perhaps year one will supply motor with shorter Pro Products "cyclone" p/n 52007???
PP 52007 is quite similar to EB vortec perfomer p/n 2116 ... again, Not identical ... as PP 52007 is even a bit shorter than EB 2116. Expect to lose a handful of max hp w/ smaller intake ... but unlikely driver of 3200 lb street car w/ about 400hp would even notice it.
Seems year one has sold many of those motors; perhaps a few have gone under early base C3 OE hood?
Suggest OP contact year one and ask about fit under early base C3 (low) hood clearance and to explore intake swap options.
Just got an email from year one, sounds like this engine does not fit under a stock hood. Also compared the dimentions with the edelbrock air gap and the air gap does not fit. Bummer! Now looking at the Edelbrock long block 350 since I already have the carb and intake that fits.
I would still get the Year One 350 and just change the intake to an Edelbrock Performer (vortec).... Then it will fit under the hood with an L88/LT1 drop base air cleaner and you'll still have more power then the other crate 350..
But before I would change intakes, I would atleast TRY to make the crosswind intake work. With the L88 drop base and 3" filter it may be close.... Also you could take the intake and mill the carb pad down a bit, maybe 1/4 or so.... It would be worth it to make it work...probably lose 20-30hp going down to a Performer intake...
Bought a Year One 383. Sales Rep. told me it would fit under my L88 hood.
It didn't. Bought an Edelbrock Torker.
After complaining to Year One they gave me a $100 credit on a future order. Sold the intake at a Swap Meet for $80.00.
They will not put a different intake on a Crate Engine other than the one supplied.
Yearone doesn't actually make the engine. A place in Texas does. I also recall that there were actually two places in Texas making these. I contacted on a couple of years ago about which plugs were correct for the engine...just can't remember who it was. But here is a shot of the engine in my 75 with the q-jet on an adaptor plate which is almost an inch thick I believe. With a square bore carb and a drop base...it would be extremely close. I went with a L88 hood and it had no problem clearing this setup with a drop base.
So I managed to send two messages to Year One (dang new smartphone). I got two different replies...one says he thinks it might fit, the other says it is rumored not to fit...hmmmm.
