Default 72 door locks

I am putting everything back together after getting the car painted and having some trouble with the door locking mechanism. I got a new ignition cylinder along with outer door locks and they just came in a package. No significant difference from one to the other. So my question is... are the outer door locks side specific from left or right? Or are they universal? I am thinking I may just try to polish the originals up and put them back on.

Both sides are the same, only the tab for the rods is reversed.
Not sure on your car what the key setup is but having the keys match saves having different keys for doors, ignition, glove box, alarm, spare tire carrier.....

I started with 4 keys (ignition, doors, glove box and alarm) I spent a few dollars and had the locks all matched (except for the spare tire carrier but that key stays in the car anyway) so I'm down to just a single oval and square key (was a little bit of a pain to get the right codes first (check the keys, they have a tiny letter stamped on them that tells the shape of the key), then fairly easy to have them re-pinned.

That being said, whatever grade of stainless (my guess is 303) used on the lock covers is possibly the best stuff for polishing ever made! Nothing seems to smooth and color up like those do. Even hit your new ones.
