Removing decals help
Anyone have a method for removing original decals/stickers without destroying them? I am in the process of replacing the carpet and rear compartment doors and would like to transfer the decals over to the new compartments.
Thanks,
andy

If 'originality' is really important to you, keep the same door panels and just put new carpeting on the top side. If you want to use the new door pieces, just buy reproduction stickers and place them on the new door panels the same way they are on the old ones. All of those stickers are available for just a few dollars each.
I don't think it would be possible to remove 40 year old stickers and have them stay in a reusable condition.

decals
Thanks Mr. Charley,
The old doors aren't in good shape. I searched the net for the decal with the maintenance schedule but couldn't find it. Anyone know a vendor that has it?

I got lucky my jack instructions sticker peeled right up from the doors on the 75 compartments.
7T1 seems to be on the right track... New stickers with proper placement looks to be the way to go... So the only questions is WHERE do we get the repro stickers?
I need the first one pictured... It was not present when I purchased the car.

If you can't find a replacment, just take a high resolution digital picture of the sticker and have one made from a place that do comercial graphic and lettering . We've done it before. I do comercial graphics for living.
