Firewall 81 vette
Can anyone tell me if the corvette assembly manual gives you all the detail for the firewall and its components for the 81 corvette? I am replacing the firewall and looking at what parts are required for complete unit. Thanks in advance.

start studing, ... you got a lot of work ahead of you !
you have to remove the whole front clip, engine and all firewall componets,
then complete interior starting at the steering wheel forward...all the dash componets
then you can start removing the firewall... your basically building the complete car.

The AIM shows how the firewall was installed at the plant and what, in turn, was installed on it.
Do you need to replace the firewall? It's huge task and one you do not want to get into if you do not have to.
Do you have birdcage issues other than the firewall?

Hi Mike,
the firewall was scrapped by previous owner, he started resto but his first job was removing the firewall and trying to repair cracks and failed miserably. I got the car for a song pretty mush complete without firewall. The birdcage and chassis are completely rust free which I am pretty stoked about tho.
