Default 75 Rear Emblem Options

I was wondering if there were different options for the rear Corvette emblem on my 75.

I have this one:

I have seen other 75s with the spaced out "C O R V E T T E" style, why the difference?

If memory serves, there were two different rear bumper covers for 75 and two different rear letter kits. One bumper cover had indentations for the letter kit.

The original 75 urethane cover had indents, but the GM replacement urethane cover, if your 75's was damaged, was of a 76 design and did not have indents. So most likely they also installed the 76 emblem at that time.

1975 had indents and individual letters, 1976 Early had no idents and a 6" emblem. 1976 Late has no idents and a 8' emblem. Your bumper is a replacement.

Is there a trim code for which one?

I think it may be an aftermarket cover, the car had a sub-par paint job done and the body lines don't match up at all, the corners are more rounded than actual body lines.

No. No trim code. Originals would have had a GM part number.

My 75 has the wider, all cap, non-italicized style. But the previous owner put that on himself and an MGB luggage rack, so I wouldn't use mine as a guide.

Thanks for the input, I just looked at Wilcox, when it comes time to get the car re-painted, I think I am going to go with their indented Tru-Flex rear bumper.....I like the spaced out look better than the 6" emblem.

The spaced out letters is the only correct application for 1975.

I like the look of the spaced out letters vs. that of the later style. Reminds me of the 68-73 style letters.

If you use the current forum member sale code you'll save an additional 10 percent off the price which will make it 252.00 plus shipping..

I was nervous for a few seconds. I ordered the true flex for my 75 and was about to cry if the letters werent indented and spaced. Thanks for the info, I will sleep better.
